In order to get started using Dental Medias services, You will
need to integrate Dental Medias software to you Opus system.
This is necessary for Dental Medias Campaign Manager,
Trustbuilder and Advisor to function optimally.
IMPROTANT!: We recommend that your IT service provider follow the steps in the Software Integration guide.
Below follows the guide:
Step 1: Download Dental Media Software:
Download following .zip file onto the harddrive: http://api.dentalmedia.dk/dm261.zip
Step 2: Install the Dental Media software on the server:
Unzip the file you just downloaded to your local drive and run the .msi file.
During installation
you will need to make a few choices. For a standard OPUS installation, choose “Typical” as the
installation type, and then pick OPUS Dental as your DPM system. (Be extra careful you don't accidentally choose Open Dental in this step)
Subsequently you will need to indicate if the server is within Norsk Helsenett or not. How the
software connects to the internet changes substantially depending on whether the server is
located within NHN or not.
In the next step, you will be asked to enter database information. This lets the software connect
to the OPUS database. The information you enter here is stored locally, and as such we do not
know the username or password you connect to the database with. The user will need SELECT
privileges, and most OPUS installations already have a predefined ‘sa’ user which will work for
this purpose.
Finally, you will need to enter the install key which was provided to you by your Deployment Manager at Dental Media.
If you have not received an install key or if you have lost it, please contact Dnetal Media support to get your key.
Step 3: Restart Service:
Run the “Dental Media Support” application from the desktop and click “Restart Service”. This
will force through a data transfer. Please note that this can take a few minutes. Once done, a
popup will appear to confirm the restart.
Step 4: Report to Dental Media:
Let your Deployment Manager at Dental Media know that you have finished the setup, so they can test that all is working as expected, either on support@dentalmedia.io or in a reply to his onboarding email.
